As the SA/NT Solution Providers of Rx Medical software (including windows billing and clinical) we would encourage you to contact Rx for your nearest local SP. The product has everything you need, in a windows environment from appointments and waiting room to billing (private, insurance, bulk etc) for both GPs and Specialists. Now as well as Medical Director integration, there is Rx Clinical for Windows using MIMMS scriptwriting Please contact us for a demonstration, we come to you with a laptop - no obligations, the software speaks for itself!! - Other, 3/7/2001 9:20 AM

Costs of Installation & Ongoing Costs

All cheap, very little maintenance needed - Group GP
not sure - Group GP, 03/12 22:13
Nearly $20,000 to set up on a 5 computer network with $1000 yearly support costs - Solo GP, 11/12 19:00
We were the orginal GP Branch Computer Project in 1993 Costs were subsidised. Since then on going costs are onerous. We are on our second ungrade at a cost of approx. $20 000 for 5-6FTE. The orginal DOS software has outlived its usefulness. Contact me at email for further details. - Group GP, 19/1/99 18:59

Time involved in establishing the package

It was years ago! It was simple then, for two novices - me and my continuing receptioniste ( nearly 10 years)!! - Group GP
minimal time needed 10 minutes per month - Group GP, 03/12 22:13
Lots - Solo GP, 11/12 19:00

Level of Support received from developers

Excellent early, deteriorating continuously till 6/12 ago, now improving quickly - Group GP
very good but really very few problems - Group GP, 03/12 22:13
Excellent 1300 number available when I've wanted them. - Solo GP, 11/12 19:00
Very good - local support also vital - Group GP, 19/1/99 18:59

Functionallity & Benefits of the Sytem

Rx-DOS is VERY simple, anyone can learn it quickly, NO mouse can be used = whoopee. All the basic financial data is there I'm most reluctant to shift to WIN-based software at the desk, worried about the learning cuve for staff, and who needs all the bells & whistles you buy and NEVER will use? - Group GP
works beautifully and we use it at 2 sites running over a simple telephone line - Group GP, 03/12 22:13
Prescriptions, Name/address files. Appointment screen. Read codes. Linkage to other site poor under DOS. With new set up much better all-round. - Group GP, 19/1/99 18:59

Suggestions and Improvements

Waiting for when Metaframe is established may then switch to run all our software from one server ie MDW is seperate database at 2 sites - Group GP, 03/12 22:13
Continue to support it, please! - Group GP
needs to be Window-ized - Solo GP, 11/12 19:00
If I was starting again - Intel Pentium -15' screen -good printer- Windows NT large surgery 95/98 smaller surgery. As near totally automatic backup as can be designed. Medical Director V2 connected to Rx Accounting package, there associated financial and Internet/pathology package. Then a lot of time and effort. - Group GP, 19/1/99 18:59
