Scripting Appointments - Specialist Practice, 21/5/2001 2:30 PM

Costs of Installation & Ongoing Costs

very expensive - Group GP
Excessive, given unreliability of package - Group GP, 16/2/99 2:21 PM
expensive training and 'support' - Solo GP, 19/3/99 9:25 AM
Ongoing cost too expensive, not keeping up with the changes in industry - Group GP, 27/3/2001 5:38 PM
Very Expensive - Specialist Practice, 21/5/2001 2:30 PM

Time involved in establishing the package

could only convert Rx patient names, no other data; took several efforts to get this right. Training was poor. Incompatabilities with existing networking protocol. Installer did not know how to fix this initially. Requires TCP/IP protocol and consequently every time the program starts, my modem attempts falsely to dial out. Remedy people cannot stop this. No 1 800 help line; have to call Sydney STD for help. Email help is very eratic. - Group GP
Vendor was unable to complete the installation in 1 day. - Group GP, 16/2/99 2:21 PM
It was a nightmare. The training session was half wasted trying to get the system to work. Then it took two months sfor the demographic data to be extracted for Medical Director and put on Remedy. Every step of the way has been painful, and laborious. - Solo GP, 19/3/99 9:25 AM
Still on going, has never provided the full compliment of functions that were promised on installation some 4 year ago - Group GP, 27/3/2001 5:38 PM
A nightmare it took far too long my staff were going out of there minds - Specialist Practice, 21/5/2001 2:30 PM

Level of Support received from developers

Poor overall. - Group GP
Frequent support calls due to software bugs. STD to Sydney. Deteriorating level of support lately. Often busy on other support calls or 'in meeting'. High turnover of IT professionals over 12 months. Heavy reliance on dial-in support due to proprietary ODBC database. - Group GP, 16/2/99 2:21 PM
Calls are not returned and if you can catch a software person they don't understand that problem and so have to transfer you to someone else who is, you guessed it, unavailable. - Solo GP, 19/3/99 9:25 AM
It would seem harder and harder to get someone to deal with your problem. - Group GP, 27/3/2001 5:38 PM
absoulutely none - Specialist Practice, 21/5/2001 2:30 PM

Functionallity & Benefits of the Sytem

Uses Sybase database engine, but this means that it cannot be accessed by other database programs; this is unlike many others which have an .DBF or .MDB format allowing other programs to use a copy of the data. - Group GP
Medclaims work well most of time. Very cumbersome WorkCover and third party billing. Unintuitive user interface. Sends incorrect data to MDW. - Group GP, 16/2/99 2:21 PM
Eventually the mediclaims is working OK but not the private billings. - Solo GP, 19/3/99 9:25 AM
Non functional in todays environment. There is no brenefit to this system in its current state - Group GP, 27/3/2001 5:38 PM
No benefits, limited functionality, constantly crashing and losing patients information - Specialist Practice, 21/5/2001 2:30 PM

Suggestions and Improvements

Suggest the vendor gets purchased by vendor of superior product and offers free upgrade and data conversion to same. - Group GP, 16/2/99 2:21 PM
They need to listemn to their clients complaints. - Solo GP, 19/3/99 9:25 AM
Come to terms with reality and accept that your development is lagging behind the rest of the industry - No forward thinking - Group GP, 27/3/2001 5:38 PM
get another application - Specialist Practice, 21/5/2001 2:30 PM

Other comments. To whom would you recommend the Package

No one. - Group GP

Absolutely nobody - Group GP, 27/3/2001 5:38 PM
