How to hit a draw |

Before you attempt to hit a manufactured shot (hook, draw, slice or fade),it is important you understand the following concept.
To hit an intentional hook or draw you must:
PART TWOMany people who find it difficult to hit a draw fail to use their right hand during the downswing. Many of my fellow golf Pros actually teach people to use their left hand during the golf swing. I differ greatly from that in my teaching. My reasoning being, If you play golf right handed, your right hand is stronger than your left hand. Every body wants to hit the ball as far and as straight as they can. Why would you use your weak hand(the left)to help this?? I liken the left hand to being a passenger in a car. It just goes along for the ride. It may think it knows how to drive but it doesn't have any of the controls available to do it. The right hand is the driver. It has all of the controls and mechanisms available to it and it is in total control over where the car is going. By allowing your right hand to control your golf swing you will tend to hit the ball a little further, and straighter. By the way. I don't believe you can use your right hand too much in the golf swing. There is the right amount or not enough. If you start hooking when you use your right hand it means your grip needs some attention ( Click here to go to my article on how to grip the club ). I hope this helps you to hit a draw more consistently.
